Leucorrhoea or colloquially known as "leukorrhea" is the abnormal discharge of fluid from the vagina . It is a common, non-specific symptom defined as an abnormally excessive and viscous lubricating mucus that flows from the vagina.
The discharge is usually white, grayish, yellow or green in color. The consistency may vary from watery to thick honey-like consistency. Most women with leucorrhoea experience vaginal discomforts such as itching and irritation. Though it is said to be normal after delivery or during the lactation period if this vaginal secretions increase beyond normal levels then one must consult a doctor for diagnosis and treatment options and also find out its cause.
